Silverton High School is proud to announce that Jamie McCarty has been selected as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach at Silverton High School. Coach McCarty will be taking over for Steve Roth, who guided the program for the past 3 years with a high degree of character, integrity and success.

Coach McCarty brings an unmatched energy and enthusiasm to coaching basketball. Beyond this, he is a firm believer in the core values of high school athletics. Coach McCarty “aspires to teach life skills through the game of basketball…Holding kids accountable both behaviorally and academically will be a priority.”

Coach McCarty’s most recent head coaching experience was at Stayton High School from 1998-2007. During this stretch his teams won 7 consecutive league titles, had a stretch of 44 consecutive league victories, and was statistically the best defensive team in the state for 7 straight years.

Jamie is currently serving as the principal of 2 elementary schools in the Silver Falls School District. He is extremely dedicated and committed to maximizing Silverton High School student-athletes’ potential both on and off the field.

We are excited to have Jamie leading our basketball program.
