Sports:
If you are interested in playing girls basketball this winter, you need to get cleared. Please see Mrs. Martinson if you have any questions or need help. You must be cleared by November 12th. If you need a calendar see Coach Ulven or Ogle. Open gyms are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6:30-7:15 and on Sunday afternoons from 3-4.
Students interested in Winter Sports!  It is NOT TOO EARLY to register for Swimming, Basketball or Wrestling for the upcoming 2018/19 season.  In fact, the earlier the better!  Winter sports/tryouts begin November 12th, and YOU WILL NEED to be registered before then!  That means a current physical form and concussion test must be completed before you can participate (fees can be paid at a later date).   SHS is using an on-line registration system, so there will not be paper registration packets sent home with students.  If you have already registered for a fall sport only, you can go back into your on-line registration account and update it with the winter sport.  If you have not yet registered using this system, go to www.registermyathlete.com.  Questions?  Come to the Athletic Department and visit with Mrs. Martinson!
Students:
Macho Volleyball is quickly approaching so get your teams together and turn in your liability and team forms in by Friday, October 26th! The fee is $15 per person and forms can be found outside the ASB room. The event will take place Nov. 6th, from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm, with warm ups starting at 4pm.
Please join Corban University in the Auditorium during RIE today and hear what great things are happening!
Interested in a career as an Electrician or Plumber?  Curious about the process to become an apprentice?  If you are looking to start work and get paid as you learn, an apprenticeship might be a great fit for you.  National Apprenticeship Week is coming in November, those interested in becoming an Electrician or a Plumber are invited on a field trip to learn more.  Check in with Dr. Barnes in A109 for more information.
Are you interested in a career in the Medical Field? Do you want to be a Doctor, Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician’s Assistant, or perhaps an Office Manager at a Doctor’s Office? If you are interested, come to room C134 on Thursday, Nov. 1st during RIE to listen to a short presentation from Dr. Katie Houts and ask questions about a career in medicine. Dr. Houts is a General Practitioner in Silverton. Don’t miss this opportunity to speak to a professional volunteering her time to help you determine if a career in medicine is right for you. For more information, see Mrs. Bashor in C134.
Oregon Gardens is hiring again for Christmas in the Gardens. No experience necessary. Email info@christmasinthegarden.com or come fill out an application @ the Garden Resort!
Class/Club Activity Information:
Our monthly FBLA meeting is this Thursday, October 18th during the first session of RIE! That is also when membership forms are due and our membership recruitment competition ends! We have so many opportunities for you that we are excited to share about – don’t miss out on this important meeting!

Junior and Senior students! If you want to check out colleges from the northwest and across the country, sign up to attend the National College Fair taking place at the Portland Convention Center on October 29th. Silverton High will be taking 3 buses of students to this event.
