If you are highly motivated, you want to make a difference in our school, you are willing to take initiative and work to make things happen, you need to pick up an application to be in ASB next year. Applications for ASB are now available outside the ASB room (C134 – Right next to the Frothy Fox). Applications are due on May 5th.
The Speech and Debate team is proud to present their school a 4th place award from the 5A Speech and Debate State Championship! Of the 11 students who qualified to represent their school in the tournament, Erin Marcellais, Hannah Brown, and Brady Tavernier made it to their semi final rounds; Julie Golan was a top 6 finalist in Dramatic Interpretation; and Melly Kazel took 2nd IN THE STATE in Humorous Interpretation. Congratulations on a great year, Foxes!!
She is Safe is holding a drive for the Center for Hope and Safety. We are collecting diapers, paper towels, and baby wipes. Please leave donations in the collection box in the commons or deliver to Ms. Perttu’s room, A202.
Prom time means Prom-posal time. How creative can you be asking your sweetheart to prom?  Submit your short story, photo and/or video to Mrs. Rankin by May 1st and you and your date can win free tickets to prom.                                                                        5/1
Prom tickets are now on sale at the bookkeeper’s office.   $25 per person and ASB cards are required.  Prom is Saturday May 13th from 8-11pm at the Oregon Garden.                                                                                                                                                                                    5/1
Class/ Club Activity Information:
If you are planning on pursuing a career in computer science, go to the high school scholarship website for 7 career specific scholarship opportunities!  Go to the national tab and look for “Google for Education” or see Mrs. Valoff in the counseling office with questions.

SENIORS: Please sign up for Graduation Ceremony walking partners in the SHS Counseling Center.  Deadline to sign up is 5/12/17.  Each student must write their own name on the sheet.  Here we go!                                                                                                                      5/12
ATTENTION SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS:  Link Crew Application forms are now available outside Mrs. Hays’s office in the counseling center.  If you are interested in being a LINK CREW leader for the 2017-2018 year, please pick one up and turn it in no later than April 28th @ 3:30pm to Mrs. Hays.  On the application you will find important dates and times that are MANDATORY for you to be present for.  As a LINK CREW leader, you will have the opportunity to mentor next year’s incoming freshman, participate and lead small groups at freshman orientation, and learn valuable leadership skills along the way!  We need LOTS of leaders so grab an application today!!
Juniors & Seniors – Are you ready for PROM?  If you would like to invite a guest to The Greek Gala that is not a student at SHS, you must fill out a guest pass form to request that they may attend.  All guests that are not SHS students must have approval in order to attend the dance.  These forms are available at the bookkeeper’s office.   Forms are due back to the bookkeeper Tuesday, May 9th before the end of the day.  The sooner you turn it in, the sooner you will find out if your guest may attend.
Seniors-If you gave Mrs. Roth in Admin Office a baby picture to scan for the senior slideshow, please come by and pick it up from her.  Thank you!
Senior Slideshow/DVD: A single baby photo, along with candid close-up shots of our seniors are needed. Photos should be saved in a digital format, preferably a .jpg image. Deadline is as soon as possible for baby photo and other candid shots. Email to Melanie Pfaff melaniepfaff@comcast.net. If you have no way to do that, label photos and turn in to Mrs. Roth in Admin Office. Thank you!
