The Silverton High School Swim Team closed their season with an End of the Season Invitational on Saturday, June 26th.  The Girls finished 3rd and the Boys finished 1st at the Invitational.

The Aqua Foxes had a lot smaller team this year due to Covid-19 Restrictions, but Coach Rogers stated, “We still had enough to fill all of our spots and perform at our highest level.  The kids worked very hard and I am very proud of them.”

A Few Highlights:

  • The Girls finished the Dual Meet Season with a record of 6-1  and the Boys finished the Dual Meet Season with a record of 7-0.  That is a first in the history of the Swim Team program!
  • Sophomore Catherine Hyde broke the School Record in the 100 Butterfly. That record was last broken in 2009.
  • Even though we did not have a state possibility, these people would have made it to State in most years based on their times:
      • Girls 200 Medley Relay (Libby Grogan, Lily Kelly, Catherine Hyde, Lucy Fronza)
      • Girls 200 Free Relay (Catherine Hyde, Libby Grogan, Vivia Kuzmin, Lucy Fronza)
      • Girls 100 Fly – Catherine Hyde
      • Girls 100 Back – Catherine Hyde
  • Other honorable mentions:
      • Makani Buckley in the 200 and 500 Freestyle
      • The Boys 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay

Well done, Auqa Foxes and Coach Rogers!
