Over the past year, our FFA students have been doing outstanding work. They did not give up when their District Contests went virtual last Spring, and then they continued to compete in May and June to win three State Championships (Ag Mechanics, Agronomy, Dairy Judging). All three of these events were team competitions that required extra work and effort in our COVID environment. After they won the State Championship, they qualified for the National Competition. Silverton has not qualified three teams for nationals before. This is the best that we’ve ever done!
The Silverton FFA team will be departing to compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Sunday, October 24th.
We want to say thank you to our amazing advisors, Scott Towery & Monica Baker, who invest their evenings, weekends, and summers to make Silverton FFA strong competitors, outstanding citizens, and develop leadership and life skills that will shape their decision-making and values for the remainder of their lives.
If you see any of our FFA students, please wish them luck! We know that they are going to be excellent representatives of Silverton High School and our community.
