  • Congratulations to our JV2 Volleyball team for receiving an OSAA Sportsmanship nomination, which is given by OSAA sports officials to highlight positive sportsmanship that they see on the court. Kudos to our JV2 coach Grace Rivers and athletes: Gabriella Peterson, Jada Ridgeway, Khylee Howell, Alice West, Hailey Meyer, Lauren Gilkison, Izabella Diaz, Rachel Slevcove, Faith Runion, Aubrey Leao, Hannah Houts, Ellenor Moore and Elise Gardner. Well done girls!
  • Attention Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: If you are interested in applying for National Honor Society, applications are due on October 7th at 3:15 pm. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Bay in room A202.

  • Did you order a photo packet at registration? They are here! Please come to the Administration Office before, after, or between classes to pick up your school photos.
  • Homecoming tickets are now on sale at the bookkeeper. They are $8 and must be bought ahead of time, there will be NO sales at the dance. You must have your ASB card with the sticker on it to purchase a ticket. Guest passes will be available at the bookkeeper soon!
  • Stacie Harker, science teacher at Butte Creek, is taking SHS students on an international STEM trip to Belize in summer of 2023. We will zipline through the rainforest, and snorkel a barrier reef, all while participating in ecological activities and learning about conservation efforts in this area. Enroll by September 30th to qualify FOR A $100 discount. Find a poster and use the QR code, or email harker_stacie@silverfalls.k12.or.us

September 23, 2022

  • Attention Swimmers: Anyone interested in being on the swim team needs to see Coach Rogers In A207. Get and fill out Info Form and Gear Form – First Order goes out Oct 7th.
  • Students, starting this week, students will begin receiving lunch detentions for tardies and unexcused absences. If you receive a tardy or unexcused absence slip, please clear it up as soon as possible as applicable. Otherwise, you must serve your lunch detention as assigned. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Alger in the attendance office.

  • Are you interested in joining the Silverton High School equestrian team? There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday 9/27 at 6:30 pm in the library. Come find out about the fun opportunities available through OHSET!
  • Art club: Those in Art Club, or any interested, come down to room E 138 to work on the mural or hear a little bit about what we’ve been up to during flex time on Friday.

  • Come learn about a 2024 summer trip to Spain and France! Mrs. Roth and Ms. Kantrowitz are taking students on an educational tour during the summer of 2024. There are a handful of spots still available. Please attend our informational meeting to learn more. Parents and students should both attend. We will meet Tuesday, September 20 at 7:00 pm at Silverton High School in room B126 (Mrs. Roth’s room). If you have questions, please direct them to spaintrip16@gmail.com.

  • Attention all wrestlers! Open Mats will begin next week, on Sept 20. They will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30 pm and will continue until the season begins on November 19 . See Coach Wilson in room A108 with any questions.
  • Outdoor School overnight programming is back this fall, and 10th – 12th graders are eligible to be Outdoor School Student Leaders (aka counselors) for a week between October 3rd – November 10th. SHS students are especially encouraged to be Student Leaders for students from Silverton Middle School or Silver Crest the week of Oct 10th – 14th, or for students from Butte Creek, Scotts Mills and Victor Point the week of November 6th – 10th. A training for interested students will occur on September 29th at Silverton High, and other training opportunities are available via Zoom if unable to attend on the 29th.   • Attention Juniors: Juniors interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 12, need to see Dawn Smith in the main office for registration. The PSAT is a good practice opportunity for students wanting to take the SAT as well as be eligible for National Merit Scholarships. There are limited tests available, so be sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Wong or Mrs. Smith. The cost is $18, if are experiencing financial hardship, please request a fee deferment/waiver application from the bookkeeper or Mr. Wong.
  • Attention Sophomores! If you are interested in being a foreign exchange, come to a meeting this Friday, the 16th right after school in the Counseling Center. If you are unable to attend, be sure to read the student square message Mr. Ortega sent out on Tuesday night.
